December 2008 Existing Student 'Get Together' - Avebury
A Winters day of wonderful practice
The Get Together started a little earlier this month, this is because the clocks have changed and the National Trust close up earlier due to lack of light for visitors
It was a wonderful winters day and the morning started with a beautiful clear sky and Grid work. Before we started Grid work we all decided to make the day about being present and impecable with our focus practice. SELF INTERVENTION !!
After Grid work there was no tea and coffee session with biscuits, instead it was straight into a C and E session that lasted over 2 hours and took us to lunch break. The meeting hall had been decorated with christ-in-mas decorations and the lunch conversation covered the CREATE YOUR YEAR EVENT in Jan 2009 and the INTRO PRESENTATION in Jan 2009 whilst listening to festive music. Everyone had stories to tell about their Follow-Up Event adventures around the world and progression with their focus work.
After all the chat and lunch we started candle focus!! Full of lunch and after the C and E, hands started to be put in the air and SELF INTERVENTION from going to sleep became the main discipline. After candle focus we had 5 remote views and almost everyone was succesful with a remote view, winning chocolate gold coins for their efforts.
It was then time to clear up the room and start Field Work outside just before dark. This month saw the biggest Field we have had so far, using the avenue of trees at Avebury Manor and there were a number of obstacles too!! Everyone had drawn cards during the morning and these were all placed on the fence. The Focus work started and started and started and all were just missing their cards but the decision had been made to keep hands together in C&E position and find all cards impecably right from the start. Then our visiting master from Dublin found her card (this master came from Ireland to the Get Together for 2 days, because she wanted to practice Fieldwork!!) Then other masters started to find their cards. After 2 and a half hours of seeing cards with a torch in the dark we stopped practicing and that signalled the end of the day. The master from Dublin found all 3 of her cards impecably.
The field was packed into the back of the car and we all went to THE RED LION pub for a drink. These opportunities to get together and practice are a wonderful creation, thank you to all who support and help to organise RSE and its growth in the UK, its a great MIND to be part of.
